Llegaron de Noche, the feature film directed by Imanol Uribe with original score by Vanessa will be released today, March 21, at the Malaga Festival, at 9:45 p.m. at the Cervantes Theater and will premiere in theaters on March 25.<\/span><\/p>\n

The film tells the true story of Luc\u00eda, the only witness in the massacre of the Jesuits in El Salvador. On the morning of November 16, 1989, in the midst of the Salvadoran civil war, six Jesuit priests and university professors, and two university employees are assassinated at the Jos\u00e9 Sime\u00f3n Ca\u00f1as Central American University (UCA) in San Salvador. The government immediately blames the FMLN guerrillas, but an eyewitness debunks the official version: her name is Luc\u00eda Barrera and she works as a cleaning employee at the UCA.
Luc\u00eda has seen who the real killers are: the national army. This will be key in clarifying the truth and bringing justice to the jesuits, but it will also change her and her family\u2019s lives forever.<\/span><\/p>\n

About the soundtrack, Vanessa Garde says:<\/p>\n

“It is an intimate, delicate and honest soundtrack, simple in speech, but with a great emotional charge. It is told from Luc\u00eda’s point of view, with the modesty and fear of having witnessed that tragedy, with the priority of caring for her family to the end while also wanting to defend their truth.<\/p>\n

Luc\u00eda has an intrinsic melodic discourse, with an inner look, especially starring the classical guitar solo, masterfully played by Ovidio L\u00f3pez. Thematically, and also from an instrumental point of view, the musical construction transports us to El Salvador (Central America), thanks to the use of a specific instrumentation.<\/p>\n

Ronrocos, plucked instruments, ethnic percussion, and strings accompany the entire attempt to solve the conflict while trying to embrace and empathize with Lucia\u2019s character and her family throughout her process towards exile.
On the other hand, the army has its own sound palette. Menacing, with grave strings, plucked tremolos, agitated ostinatos, percussion and electronics. All of these with a more urgent and relentless tempo always accompanying the armed conflicts.<\/p>\n

As for the musical structure the main idea was to elaborate and present these worlds thematically, supporting the flashbacks, leading up to the final development where all these themes come together to close the film. It is worth noting the emotional ending where there are no winners nor losers, but rather a feeling of helplessness, supported by \u00c1lvaro Gallego’s viola solo, highlighting the fact that this tragedy has marked their lives in a deep and irreversible way”.<\/p>\n
