BIO
Vanessa Garde is a prolific film and television composer, conductor, arranger, orchestrator, music technologist, and former faculty member at Berklee College of Music.
Vanessa Garde graduated Summa Cum Laude on Film Scoring (at Berklee, Boston, 2010), graduated with the highest honors at the Royal Conservatory in Madrid (on Piano Performance, as well as on Piano Pedagogy) and she also took up to the 4th Course on “History and Music Science” at the online program from La Rioja University.
On her professional career, she has worked in more than 75 projects (in different roles), including blockbuster films like Exodus (directed by Ridley Scott and starring Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton), The Girl in the Spider’s Web (part of the Millennium series, Claire Foy), Misconduct (Josh Dudamel, Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino), The Man Who Killed Don Quixote (Terry Gilliam), The Fury of a Patient Man (Antonio de la Torre, Luis Callejo), Rosa’s Wedding (directed by Icíar Bollaín), Hunter’s Prayer (Sam Worthington), Everybody Has a Plan (Viggo Mortersen), The Cold Light of Day (Bruce Willis, Sigourney Weaver) or The Raven (John Cusack), among others.
In television (series), Vanessa has worked on NBC’s The Titan Games (hosted by Dwayne Johnson, the Rock), Amazon’s series Parot, National Spanish television Antena 3 series (and Netflix’s) Galerías Velvet, Gran Hotel; Telecinco’s Lo que Escondían sus ojos or Hasbro’s My Little Pony. Her musical collaborations also include working closely with Alberto Iglesias, David Newman, Lucio Godoy, Joey Newman, Roque Baños, Federico Jusid, K.C. Porter, Remote Control (Hans Zimmer´s company), Jeff Russo, or MuMo Productions.
She has also being involved with some artists, on studio work, as well as live performances: Plácido Domingo, David Bisbal, Sabina, Maluma, or Natalia Lafourcade; among others.
As a conductor, she has lead some film music concerts with the Navarra Symphonic Orchestra, Orfeón Pamplonés Choir, as well as becoming the first woman to conduct the Band “La Pamplonesa” (in 103 years of existence). She also does studio work, conducting sessions in London, Bratislava, Budapest, Madrid, Pamplona and Los Angeles.
For more than five years Vanessa was the Assistant Professor for the Master in Music in Scoring for Film, Television, and Video Games at Berklee College of Music, Valencia Campus; focusing on music production classes and everything related to technology in music for media. She also collaborates with other educational institutions like ESMUC, Centro Katarina Gurska, Música Creativa, or Fundación SGAE.
Currently, she works between Madrid, Navarra, Valencia and Los Angeles, working on projects in film, television, platforms, live events and videogames.

SPEAKING & TEACHING
With five years experience as faculty at Berklee College of Music, Vanessa gives masterclasses, speaks at conferences, and educates film scoring students and film scoring passionates.
CONDUCTING CONCERTS
At the podium, leading concerts of film music, paying tribute to the well known repertoire, with different ensembles including symphonic orchestras, to choirs or symphonic bands.
